It’s hard to believe that yet another year has flashed by so quickly by. I’m almost officially half way finished my time as an undergad student here at the U. They say time flies when you’re having fun and I couldnt’t agree with that more. These past two years have flown by for me and I truly believe it’s because of all the amazing experiences that I’ve had at this school.
The end of the school year is always bittersweet for me. It feels great that summer is just around the corner and I am almost done with all my classes and finals. However, going home for summer means leaving all my friends here at the U. As one final event, Residence Life will be hosting a Sophomore BBQ this week. The event will take place outside of the sophormore dorms. There will be live music, tons of food and games such as a dunk tank, corn holes and much more. A Quad Olympics event will be held where teams of 4 can particapte in various games and win great prizes. I think this is a great way to end the semester and enjoy a great time with all my friends before we are forced to go home for the summer.
I would be a hypocrite if I told you to stop stressing about finals and not to worry considering I’m always a ball of stress during finals week. However, I’m going to share some tips how to reduce your stress as much as possible:
1. Study in advance. Don’t try and study for that 5 chapter final the night before the test. Dead week is the perfect time to start getting ahead on your studies and give yourself enough time to remember the material to the best of your ability.
2. Don’t over work yourself. It’s important to give yourself study breaks and get a good night sleep. Pulling all nighters for the next two weeks isn’t going to help you do better on your tests..it may even make you do worse. Make sure to get as much sleep as possible.
3. Time management is key to acing your finals. Like I said, studying the night before for your final isn’t going to work. Make a schedule of your test dates and times and plan your studying accordingly. Spend more time studying for finals that you think will be harder for you and make sure to include sleep and study breaks into your schedule!
Best of luck with finals everyone!!! You’re all going to do FABULOUS!
