Hey everyone! My name is Kara DeRosa and I am a junior Occupational therapy student with a psychology minor. This will be my third year blogging and I am so glad to be back to share my amazing experiences with you. I hope everyone had a fabulous summer and is glad to be back at the beautiful University of Scranton. I know I am. I want to say welcome back to all returning students and extend a warm welcome to our incoming freshman. I’ve been moved in to my apartment for a few days now and I love it. As a junior, I am living in the Elizabeth Ann Seton House, an upper-classman apartment. The apartment is so nice with a full kitchen, living room and 3 individual bedrooms for the 3 of us living here.
I was able to move in early because I signed up to be a Fall-Move In Volunteer. On freshman move-in day myself along with the many other volunteers basically bombard the cars, unload all of the incoming freshman’s things and bring it all to their rooms for them. It is a really great way to welcome the freshman and help make their college transition a bit easier for them. My sister is a freshman this year living in Dennis Edward. She is so excited to be here and become a part of the Scranton family.
Classes so far have been going really well. My professors seem great and my schedule isn’t too hard…for now. I am just really happy to be back and excited to start my junior year. This semester I am taking a Pediatrics course in order to prepare for my first Level I Fieldwork in January. I am really looking forward to this and finally being able to actually go out and experience occupational therapy firsthand.
That’s all for now. I’ll be blogging again soon! Good luck with classes and again, welcome to a new school year!!
