So much happening!

Hey there!

So it’s been a big week here at The University of Scranton. As I have mentioned in my last few blogs, Residence Life hosted Haunted Hafey, in which they converted a dorm that is not being used this semester into a haunted house, and allowed students to get scared while raising money for the International Service Program here on campus.

Last Wednesday was also Midnight Madness. It was amazing and everyone had a great time! We donated over a hundred soup cans, and monetary donations for the Center for Service & Social Justice, to which they will use towards their Thanksgiving Food Drive.

The Food Drive provides Scranton families in need with a Thanksgiving meal. As a work-study in the Center for Service & Social Justice, I am personally excited for this event as it helps so many people in need, and allows them to have a Thanksgiving meal with their family. Stay tuned for updates!

Speaking of the Center for Service & Social Justice, this past weekend was also Safe Trick-or-Treat, where young children in the Scranton area to trick-or-treat in the residence halls rather than in the parts of the city that could be dangerous. We had an amazing turn out and the children had so much fun collecting candy in their costumes. A majority of our student clubs here on campus also provided fun activities for the kids as they took a break from Trick-or-Treating.

Overall, it’s been a great week, but is only going to get better as I am going on Search, which is a spiritual retreat through Campus Ministry. I am not exactly sure what I am in for, but excited to go on it with an open mind.

After that, This I Believe is coming up on Wednesday. This I Believe is an event run through Student Government, where select members of the University are asked to talk about their one true belief. This is an eye opening experience, and I cannot wait to hear their different stories.

I’ll keep you updated, but until then, have a great week!
