Happy December! It’s been a while since you last heard from me, but that is because I have been busy doing awesome things that I am so excited to share with all of you. Thanksgiving break is over; I am fully rejuvenated, and ready to jump in to finals for the last two weeks of the semester. Okay, so what did you miss…This I Believe was amazing, and so inspirational. If you would like to hear recordings of the speakers, you can listen to them here: https://soundcloud.com/uofsstudentgovernment.
A couple of weeks ago, I went on an amazing retreat through Campus Ministry called Search. Search is a spiritual retreat that dozens of students go on each year. While I do not want to give too much away, I do want to say that I have made amazing friends from this retreat who I will talk to for a very long time.
Last week, The Center for Service & Social Justice held their annual Thanksgiving Food Drive. Dozens of students helped bag and prepare vegetables and soups to give to local families in need. I was on Turkey duty, bringing the frozen turkeys from our loading area, and loading them in the student driver’s cars. It was a lot of fun; especially knowing our efforts were going to people in need.
On a more personal note, I was recently selected as the November Student Leader of the Month at The University of Scranton due to my efforts around campus, and my hard with the launch of RoyalSync that I have talked about in my earlier blogs. I am so grateful for this award, and honor that I was chosen for it. Look out for my article in the Aquinas, as well as on the iTower slides across campus.
Finally, right before break, I was also notified that I am going to be an Orientation Assistant for the 2013-2014 school year. Orientation Assistants work over the summer to orientate the incoming freshman to The University of Scranton. I am so excited to join the other OA’s, and cannot wait to get started with training!
Other than that, I had an amazing thanksgiving break with the family! How was yours?
