These fantastic hands-on activities get the elementary students excited about the real-life implications of what they learn in the classroom.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-136\" src=\"http:\/\/sites.scranton.edu\/biology\/files\/2018\/10\/Jong_volunteer-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sites.scranton.edu\/biology\/files\/2018\/10\/Jong_volunteer-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sites.scranton.edu\/biology\/files\/2018\/10\/Jong_volunteer.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This event is part of the annual activities of<a href=\"http:\/\/www.scranton.edu\/faculty\/gomezg2\/Documents\/Outreach\/synapse-program.shtml\"> SynAPSE <\/a>(Synergistic Activity Program for Science Education). In the spring, the same students will take a field trip to the University for a more advanced set of activities introducing them to experimental design and data collection.
