Each fellow will receive a $3000 stipend, an additional $500 budget for supplies or travel to a scientific meeting, and the availability of free on-campus summer housing. <strong>The new Scranton fellows are<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #993300\"><strong><span style=\"color: #993300\">Charles Dominick, Langhorne, PA<\/span><\/strong><\/span> (mentor: Dr. Jong-Hyun Son) \u2013 rising Senior in Biochemistry, Cell &amp; Molecular Biology; Project: \u201cThe\u00a0effects of a high-fat diet on acetylcholine esterase during the central nervous system (CNS) development\u201d<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #993300\">Margaret McGrath, Merion Station,<\/span> <span style=\"color: #993300\">PA<\/span><\/strong> (mentor: Dr. Christopher Howey) \u2013 rising Junior in Biology; Project: \u201cStudying the Effects of Ambient Light at Night (ALAN) on the Natural Rhythmicity of Glucocorticoids\u201d<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #993300\"><strong><span style=\"color: #993300\">Mahad Muhammad, Freeland,<\/span> <span style=\"color: #993300\">PA<\/span><\/strong><\/span> (mentor: Dr. Maria Squire) \u2013 rising Junior in Biology; Project: \u201cThe Effects of Tylenol on Cortical\u00a0and Trabecular Bone Quantity and Morphology in Adolescent Mole Mice\u201d<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #993300\">Richard Terranova, New York,<\/span> <span style=\"color: #993300\">NY<\/span><\/strong> (mentor: Dr. Marc Seid) \u2013 rising Senior in Neuroscience; Project: \u201cThe Effects of social isolation on axonal pruning in the mushroom bodies of the ant \u201cPheidole\u00a0dentata\u201d<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #993300\">Cara Webster, Bradford,<\/span> <span style=\"color: #993300\">PA<\/span><\/strong> (mentor: Dr. Marc Seid) \u2013 rising Senior in Neuroscience; Project: \u201cArmy ant raiding as a learning tool for bat foraging behavior\u201d, and<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #993300\">Sarah White, New York,<\/span> <span style=\"color: #993300\">NY<\/span><\/strong> (mentor: Dr. Anne Royer) \u2013 rising Junior in Biology; Project: \u201cTesting maintenance of divergent \u201cM.ringens\u201d life histories with morphological differences, resource allocation, and inbreeding depression\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We plan to have each student blog this summer on their research experience, so please stop back to learn about their progress.
