Dunmore, Pa. native Ashley Fischetti.

Ashley Fischetti is an occupational therapy major at the University.

Her senior year has been filled with lots of friends and, recently, lounging in the sun on campus.

“I’ve made so many memories with different people across different places on campus,” Fischetti said.

Out of all the places on campus, her favorite spot to relax?

“I love hammocking behind Alumni Memorial Hall.”

Adjusting to the New Semester

After a well-needed break filled with family, friends and holiday cheer, it’s time to get back into the swing of things here at Scranton!  Adjusting to a new semester can be difficult, but it is important to take things one day at a time, and before you know it you’ll be packing your bags for summer vacation!

Here are a few tips to help you start your semester:

Make a schedule – Setting a schedule is a great way to help get adjusted to the new semester.  Putting all of your assignments, due dates, activities and events into one calendar can help you keep track of what you have to do each day.

Talk to your professors – New classes can be nerve-wracking.  Introducing yourself to your new professors can help ease your mind about a class. Office hours are a great time to stop by and ask questions about a course.

Relax with your friends – As important as studying and school work are, it’s also super important to take time to relax and hang out with your friends.  With everyone’s busy schedules, scheduling meals with friends can be a great way to reconnect and take a break.

Take care of yourself – Eating well and getting plenty of rest is important to keep yourself healthy during the semester.

And above all – BUNDLE UP AND STAY WARM!
