Mary Oliver was an American poet who won the National Book Award, a Lannan Literary Award for lifetime achievement, and also the Pulitzer Prize for her book American Primitive<\/em> (1983).<\/p>\n

At 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2019 the University will be hosting an open reading of Oliver’s work at the flag pole, center of the commons.<\/p>\n

Scott R. Pilarz, S.J., Ph.D., president of the University, will talk about Oliver and pay tribute to her life’s work.<\/p>\n

There will be ice cream at the event.<\/p>\n
