{"id":158,"date":"2015-03-25T14:11:52","date_gmt":"2015-03-25T18:11:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sites.scranton.edu\/englishandtheatre\/?p=158"},"modified":"2015-03-25T14:17:51","modified_gmt":"2015-03-25T18:17:51","slug":"english-department-begins-alumni-lecture-series","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.scranton.edu\/englishandtheatre\/2015\/03\/25\/english-department-begins-alumni-lecture-series\/","title":{"rendered":"English Department Begins Alumni Lecture Series"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The University of Scranton\u2019s Department of English and Theatre will host its inaugural Alumni Lecture with a talk by Harry Brown, Ph.D., entitled \u201cSpeculative Ecology: Arcadia, Utopia, Mars.\u201d The lecture, which is free of charge and open to the public, will take place Thursday, March 26, at\u00a08 p.m. in the Studio Theatre of the McDade Center for Literary and Performing Arts.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Brown graduated from the University in 1994 with a double major in English and Spanish. He is an associate professor and chair of the English Department at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, where he teaches courses in American literature, Native American literature, literature of the environment, and game studies.
