First published in the December 2012 issue of <i>The New England Quarterly<\/i>, the article was selected by Linda Smith Rhoads as an essential contribution on the topic of Emerson and Thoreau. It has been bundled with eight other pieces to comprise <i>Emerson and Thoreau: Dimensions of Two Intertwined Careers<\/i>. The <i>Batch<\/i> is now available <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/dp\/B00VXP3ZQW\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a> for pre-order in the Kindle Store. Customers who pre-order the book will receive the content on the release date of April 20, 2015.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Massachusetts Institute of Technology Press, publishers of <em>The New England Quarterly<\/em><em>, <\/em>conceives of its Batches project as a way to bring together recent significant publications around significant themes. Each <i>Batch<\/i> contains 6-13 journal articles from a single publication, plus an introduction from one of the journal\u2019s editors.
