We’re proud to announce that graduating International Studies major (and English minor) Ben Turcea has won a prestigious\u00a0Fulbright grant. Fulbrights are national awards funded by the federal government to promote international understanding, and competition for them is keen.<\/p>\n
As Ben\u00a0puts it, “I’ll be posted as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, and the Mongolian University of Life Sciences, formerly the University of Agriculture. I’m excited to see how I’ll draw on the countless lessons I’ve learned from the English department at The University to engender a love for the English language in my students. Above all, I’ve learned through English and philosophy that one cannot truly know something until one teaches. I move timidly but hopefully forward to embrace English even more on the other side of the world.”<\/p>\n
