Fulbrights are national awards funded by the federal government to promote international understanding, and competition for them is keen.<\/p>\n<p>As Ben\u00a0puts it, &#8220;I&#8217;ll be posted as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, and the Mongolian University of Life Sciences, formerly the University of Agriculture. I&#8217;m excited to see how I&#8217;ll draw on the countless lessons I&#8217;ve learned from the English department at The University to engender a love for the English language in my students. Above all, I&#8217;ve learned through English and philosophy that one cannot truly know something until one teaches. I move timidly but hopefully forward to embrace English even more on the other side of the world.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The University of Scranton has been recognized several years in a row for our unusual success at obtaining these coveted\u00a0awards. Congratulations to Ben on earning the privilege to represent the United States abroad.
