George Anders of\u00a0Forbes<\/em>\u00a0argues at length that the “second wave” of the technological revolution is upon us and that it is the humanities-educated rather than the technical-educated who are most responsible for driving it.<\/p>\n

As he puts it at one point:<\/p>\n

Engineers may still command the biggest salaries, but at disruptive juggernauts such as Facebook and Uber, the war for talent has moved to nontechnical jobs, particularly sales and marketing. The more that audacious coders dream of changing the world, the more they need to fill their companies with social alchemists who can connect with customers\u2013and make progress seem pleasant.<\/p>\n
