And that&#8217;s exactly the point.<\/p>\n<p>Most of the class majored in biology or chemistry, crammed for the medical college admission test and got flawless grades and scores.<\/p>\n<p>But a growing percentage came through a humanities-oriented program at Mount Sinai known as <a href=\"https:\/\/icahn.mssm.edu\/departments-and-institutes\/psychiatry\/newsletter\/humanities-and-medicine-early-assurance-program-at-mount-sinai-accepts-liberal-arts-students-into-medical-school\">HuMed<\/a>. As undergraduates, they majored in things like English or history or medieval studies.
