{"id":982,"date":"2019-11-11T14:42:30","date_gmt":"2019-11-11T19:42:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sites.scranton.edu\/itmatters\/?p=982"},"modified":"2019-11-12T11:31:17","modified_gmt":"2019-11-12T16:31:17","slug":"mac-computer-upgrades-legacy-software-and-catalina","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.scranton.edu\/itmatters\/2019\/11\/11\/mac-computer-upgrades-legacy-software-and-catalina\/","title":{"rendered":"Mac Computer Upgrades: Legacy Software and Catalina"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Since macOS Catalina is the first Apple operating system that will no longer support 32-bit applications; Apple has provided a way to identify the software that will no longer run when upgrades.<\/p>\n<p>In order to find these applications follow these steps:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Click on the<strong> Apple logo<\/strong> on the top left of the screen<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>About This Mac<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Click on the <strong>System Report<\/strong> button<\/li>\n<li>Scroll down the left pane to the Software section and select <strong>Legacy Software<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Only 32-bit software that is no longer supported by Catalina will show up in this section.
