{"id":1210,"date":"2009-09-30T12:28:10","date_gmt":"2009-09-30T16:28:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wmlinfospot.wordpress.com\/?p=1210"},"modified":"2016-07-20T16:11:49","modified_gmt":"2016-07-20T20:11:49","slug":"fall-break-service-outage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.scranton.edu\/library\/2009\/09\/30\/fall-break-service-outage\/","title":{"rendered":"Fall Break Library Resource\u00a0Access"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The University&#8217;s Information Resources department has announced an important outage of critical University services over Fall Break.<\/p>\n<p>Due to a needed upgrade, both<strong> email <\/strong>(RoyalMail) and <strong>my.scranton.edu <\/strong>will <strong>not be available <\/strong>from<strong> 4:30pm on Friday, October 9 <\/strong>through<strong> 8:30 am on Tuesday, October 13<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Angel and Library services (including our catalog and research databases)<strong> will be available<\/strong> during the service outage but must be accessed using the URL <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.scranton.edu\/myScranton\" target=\"_blank\">www.scranton.edu\/myScranton<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0 You can log in using your usual my.scranton username and login.<\/p>\n<p>Other Library services such as Electronic Reserves (ERes), PALCI E-Z Borrow, Ask-a-Librarian, and Interlibrary Loan <strong>will be available<\/strong> during the service outage as well and can be accessed from the Library&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scranton.edu\/library\">homepage<\/a>.\u00a0 Please note, however, that Interlibrary Loan requests are received by the Library via email &#8211; so to be sure that your ILL request is processed, it would be best to send it before 4:30pm on Friday or after 8:30am next Tuesday.\u00a0 PALCI E-Z Borrow requests will not be affected by the unavailability of email.<\/p>\n<p>Last but not least, don&#8217;t forget that the Library will be closed over Fall Break.\u00a0 Our hours for the weekend will be:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Friday, October 9: 8:00am &#8211; 4:30pm<\/p>\n<p>Saturday, October 10: CLOSED<\/p>\n<p>Sunday, October 11: CLOSED<\/p>\n<p>Monday, October 12: CLOSED<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday, October 13: 8:00am &#8211; 11:30pm<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Students, be sure to plan ahead if you are thinking of doing research or homework over fall break.\u00a0 If you have any questions about the availability of Library services this weekend, contact\u00a0 the Library&#8217;s Associate Director, Bonnie Strohl, at strohlb1 (at) scranton (dot) edu or 570-941-4006.\u00a0 For information about the service outage in general, contact the <a href=\"http:\/\/academic.scranton.edu\/department\/helpdesk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Technology Support Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Update: Tech Support center just announced on Wednesday (10\/7\/09) that the planned <a href=\"http:\/\/wmlinfospot.wordpress.com\/2009\/10\/07\/fall-break-upgrade-postponed\/\"><strong>software upgrades will be postponed<\/strong><\/a><\/em><em>.<\/em><\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The University&#8217;s Information Resources department has announced an important outage of critical University services over Fall Break.
