On March 22, from 6:00-8:00PM, the Rev. Dr. M. Antoni J. Ucerler, S.J.<\/span><\/span>, Director, Ricci Institute for Chinese-Western Cultural History at Boston College will speak at a reception for the Heritage Room <\/b>exhibit titled \u201cAd Majorem Dei Gloriam: Rare Books from the Hill-Davis Jesuit Collection.\u201d <\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/b>Father Ucerler will speak on the topic of \u201cEarly Modern Jesuits in East Asia &\u00a0Global Networks of Knowledge.\u201d\u00a0 He will discuss Jesuit missions in Japan and China, printing in Europe and Asia, cartography, and letter writing in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries as a principal conduit of information and its influence on major European printing houses.\u00a0 The reception is co-sponsored by the Friends of the Weinberg Memorial Li<\/span>brary, The University of Scranton Jesuit Center, the Slattery Center for the Ignatian Humanities and the Schemel Forum.
