At the Weinberg Memorial Library you can earn valuable work experience and enhance your skills in a variety of different ways.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2543\/4058908828_07bbdd8cb9.jpg\" alt=\"Weinberg Memorial Library\" width=\"500\" height=\"326\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Currently, the Weinberg Memorial Library currently has an open Student TechCon position:<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration:underline\">Library Outreach TechCon<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This TechCon supports the Library\u2019s Public Services initiatives and reports to the Library\u2019s Evening Public Services Librarian, George Aulisio.<\/p>\n<p>Afternoon, evening, and some weekend hours available.<\/p>\n<p>Job <strong>responsibilities<\/strong> for this position include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Publicizing Library events and services using the Library\u2019s social media presence (with regular postings to the Library\u2019s blog, Flickr, Facebook, and Twitter accounts).<\/li>\n<li>Researching the usage of social media tools at other libraries.<\/li>\n<li>Preparing informational slides, images, and video for the Library\u2019s new television displays.<\/li>\n<li>Photographing Library events and activities.<\/li>\n<li>Assisting the Public Services Librarians in planning outreach activities.\n<ul>\n<li>Potential projects include gaming events and Earth Week.<\/li>\n<li>Assisting the Digital Services Librarian and Digitization TechCon in promoting digital collections.<\/li>\n<li>Assisting with other special projects as needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em>Preferred<\/em><\/strong> qualifications for this position include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, and Powerpoint<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with Mac operating system and software<\/li>\n<li>Experience with audio\/video editing and graphic design<\/li>\n<li>Excellent written communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with social media tools such as Facebook and Twitter, and with current social media trends and culture<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Students interested should send an email to george.aulisio@scranton.edu with information on their interest in this position.
