The Library asked for students\u2019 opinions of the 24 Hour Study Space.\u00a0 This room was constructed in response to student requests.\u00a0 \u00a0For our future planning, we want to know what you would like. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Environment <\/strong>:<\/p>\n

You said:<\/em> It was too cold, it was too hot, or it was just right.
\nWe say:<\/em> It should be okay now.\u00a0 Let us know if it isn\u2019t.<\/p>\n

Group Study Rooms:<\/strong><\/p>\n

You said:<\/em> One person takes the room that is intended for a group.
\nWe say:<\/em> If this happens when Library staff is available, please let us know and we will ask the person to yield the room.<\/p>\n

You said: <\/em>More group study rooms and larger group study rooms.
\nWe say:<\/em> The Library is looking for ways and places for more group study rooms that will be constructed as funds and space permit.<\/p>\n

Furnishings:<\/strong><\/p>\n

You said: <\/em>More of the cushioned rocker chairs because the wooden ones are too hard.
\nWe say: <\/em>We are ordering more.<\/p>\n

You said: <\/em>Several people asked for a vending machine for beverages,other asked for a hot water machine.
\nWe say: <\/em> A soda\/cold water vending machine was installed today! There are two water fountains by the restroom. We are investigating the possibility of getting a water cooler that dispenses hot water.<\/p>\n

You said:<\/em> More and higher tables.
\nWe say: <\/em> All new tables will be higher and we will look at fixing leg room for our current tables.<\/p>\n

You said: <\/em> Love seats for intimate relations, and several people asked for cup holders.
\nWe say:\u00a0 New chairs will be lounge chairs with tablet arms and cup holders.<\/p>\n

\nWe say: <\/em>Vending machine is in place.<\/p>\n

Services:<\/strong><\/p>\n

You said: <\/em> Several people asked for two sided printing.
\nWe say:<\/em> We\u2019re trying.\u00a0 We appreciate students\u2019 interest in conserving paper and trees.\u00a0 This is very important to us as well. The printer in the new 24 hour room is set to print two sided.\u00a0 Wireless jobs go to this printer. If you do not want two sided printing, you need to change the default. <\/em> One of your subsidized prints (or seven cents) is deducted for each side<\/em><\/strong> you print.\u00a0 The expense of printing is the toner more than the paper.\u00a0 While the other printers in the Library could print two sided, they are not working well with UniPrint.\u00a0 We will continue to try to provide this service.<\/p>\n

\nWe say:<\/em> These are available on the second floor when the Library is open.<\/p>\n

More access:<\/strong><\/p>\n

You said: <\/em> Have a gate come down for the counter area and then connect the two after hour sections.
\nWe say: <\/em> We thought about that, but there is no way to close off the stair case leading to the second floor.<\/p>\n

You said: <\/em>Can we have an entrance open on the side of the Library for more convenient access from DeNaples.
\nWe say: <\/em> If we could use the time machine someone requested, we would go forward in time and connect the two buildings.<\/p>\n

You said: <\/em> Have \u201cafter hours entrance\u201d always open.
\nWe say: <\/em> This exit does not have a gate like the other entrances\/exits do so we need to have people leave through the exits with the security gates.<\/p>\n

You said:<\/em> Any way to keep the 2nd<\/sup> floor open as well\u2014more space, computers, books and good times!!
\nWe say: <\/em>We need to control access to the second floor collection, desks and offices to times when staff are present.<\/p>\n

\nWe say:<\/em> Libraries that have these charge 25 cents a page.\u00a0 Right now, the Library is opting to subsidize 200 prints per semester (with an additional 50 for those taking Intersession classes)<\/p>\n

You said: <\/em> Kittens; Cuddly cute animal\/puppy viewing area (lots of people liked this idea); Swimming pool; Time machine; Headphone station<\/p>\n
