{"id":2863,"date":"2010-10-22T14:23:18","date_gmt":"2010-10-22T18:23:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wmlinfospot.wordpress.com\/?p=2863"},"modified":"2016-07-20T16:09:57","modified_gmt":"2016-07-20T20:09:57","slug":"google-voice-workshop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.scranton.edu\/library\/2010\/10\/22\/google-voice-workshop\/","title":{"rendered":"Google Voice Workshop"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align:center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.voice.google.com\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" style=\"border:0 none\" src=\"http:\/\/berrytorch.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/Google-Voice-Logo-Beta.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"403\" height=\"131\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve had a lot of good times in our <a href=\"http:\/\/wmlinfospot.wordpress.com\/tag\/technology-on-your-own-terms\/\" target=\"_blank\">Technology On Your Own Terms<\/a> series this fall.\u00a0\u00a0 Bonnie taught us how Google search works; Tim showed us how we could make collaborative drawings in Docs.\u00a0 We even made our own custom maps in Google Maps.\u00a0 But before the Fall 2010 series to comes to an end, you still have one more chance to learn a little more about Google products and services.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, November 4 from 12pm-1pm, CTLE&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/academic.scranton.edu\/staff\/grigorescue2\/\" target=\"_blank\">Eugeniu Grigorescu<\/a> will teach our last Fall workshop, titled<strong> Does Google Give You A Voice?<\/strong> He&#8217;ll guide you through an exploration of <a href=\"http:\/\/voice.google.com\/\">Google Voice<\/a>,  a recently-made-public service of the search giant.\u00a0 Google Voice  offers one central phone number, which can be setup to call your other  phones based on caller, time of day, etc.\u00a0 Other features of the service  include visual voicemail, personalized greetings, voicemail  transcription, international calling, and a lot more.\u00a0 It is easy to set  up\u2026\u00a0Learn how!<\/p>\n<p>As usual, we&#8217;ll be in WML 306.
