{"id":3417,"date":"2011-02-28T09:48:40","date_gmt":"2011-02-28T14:48:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wmlinfospot.wordpress.com\/?p=3417"},"modified":"2016-07-20T16:09:09","modified_gmt":"2016-07-20T20:09:09","slug":"new-electronic-masters-and-honors-theses-collection","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.scranton.edu\/library\/2011\/02\/28\/new-electronic-masters-and-honors-theses-collection\/","title":{"rendered":"New: Electronic Masters and Honors Theses Collection"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.scranton.edu\/library\/theses\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-3418\" style=\"border: 0 none;margin: 5px\" src=\"http:\/\/sites.scranton.edu\/library\/files\/2011\/02\/mh-thesis-logo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"211\" height=\"211\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Each year at the University of Scranton, graduating masters and honors students demonstrate their research prowess by writing and defending a scholarly thesis.\u00a0 Since 1955, the University Library has preserved these works in print form in our<a href=\"http:\/\/matrix.scranton.edu\/academics\/wml\/spcollections\/index.shtml\"> Special Collections.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now, the Weinberg Memorial Library is proud to introduce the new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scranton.edu\/library\/theses\">Electronic Masters and Honors Theses Collection<\/a>, a new digital home for University of Scranton masters and honors student scholarship.<\/p>\n<p>The collection currently includes 359 graduate and undergraduate theses written by University of Scranton students from 1955 to the present.\u00a0 While the digital collection does not yet include all of the theses the Library holds in print, we are continually adding newly digitized and newly submitted works.\u00a0 With the permission of their respective authors, these theses are either available to the public or restricted to on-campus users only.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re an alumnus who wrote an honors or masters thesis as part of your University of Scranton coursework and would like to include your thesis in the collection, please visit our <a href=\"http:\/\/digitalservices.scranton.edu\/cdm\/instructions\/collection\/p15111coll1\">Thesis Permission page<\/a> to find out how you can request that your thesis be digitized.\u00a0 As in the past, your original printed thesis will still be preserved in the Library\u2019s Special Collections.<\/p>\n<p>Questions or comments about the Electronic Masters and Honors Theses collection may be directed to the Digital Services department at <a href=\"mailto:etheses@scranton.edu\" target=\"_blank\">etheses@scranton.edu<\/a> or 570-941-7003.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Each year at the University of Scranton, graduating masters and honors students demonstrate their research prowess by writing and defending a scholarly thesis.\u00a0 Since 1955, the University Library has preserved these works in print form in our Special Collections.
