{"id":4061,"date":"2011-09-16T14:18:00","date_gmt":"2011-09-16T18:18:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wmlinfospot.wordpress.com\/?p=4061"},"modified":"2016-07-20T16:08:24","modified_gmt":"2016-07-20T20:08:24","slug":"changes-in-media-resources","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.scranton.edu\/library\/2011\/09\/16\/changes-in-media-resources\/","title":{"rendered":"Changes in Media Resources"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Changes are happening rapidly in the Media Resources Department.\u00a0 While the\u00a0 DVD is currently the favorite media format, <strong><\/strong>media streaming is becoming increasingly\u00a0popular for academic use.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Streaming media<\/strong> are compressed audio and video files that allow the viewer to listen to or watch media in real time.\u00a0\u00a0 Some popular sites that feature streaming\u00a0 media are\u00a0 <a title=\"Hulu\" href=\"http:\/\/www.hulu.com\/\">Hulu<\/a>, <a title=\"YouTube\" href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/\">YouTube<\/a> and <a title=\"Google Videos\" href=\"http:\/\/video.google.com\/\">Google Videos.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\nIn the spring of 2011 the Library initiated a Streaming Media Page as an offshoot of the Media Resources\/Edlab web page.
