Davis, S.J., Distinguished Author Award<\/a>. We also kicked off the Library&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scranton.edu\/library\/wml20\" target=\"_blank\">20th anniversary celebration<\/a> with another honored guest, American Library Association President <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simmons.edu\/gslis\/people\/faculty\/adjunct\/maureen-sullivan.php\" target=\"_blank\">Maureen Sullivan<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The evening was a wonderful success, and we&#8217;re so grateful to our <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scranton.edu\/academics\/wml\/distinguished\/dauthor-sponors.shtml\" target=\"_blank\">event sponsors<\/a>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scranton.edu\/academics\/wml\/distinguished\/dae-committee.shtml\" target=\"_blank\">event planning committee<\/a>, all of our Friends, and the many Library and University faculty and staff members who have contributed to our 20th Anniversary festivities.<\/p>\n<p>The celebration is far from over, though &#8211; check out our<a href=\"http:\/\/www.scranton.edu\/academics\/wml\/wml201\/library-events.shtml\" target=\"_blank\"> calendar of events <\/a> and join us for lectures, conversations, and our first ever wine-tasting fundraiser!<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This past Saturday, the Friends of the Weinberg Memorial Library honored award winning poet, biographer, fiction writer and educator Jay Parini, Ph.D., with the 2012 Royden B.
