Yesterday, we opened our display of the national traveling exhibit, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ala.org\/ala\/aboutala\/offices\/ppo\/programming\/foreverfree\/foreverfreeabraham.cfm\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;Forever Free: Abraham Lincoln&#8217;s Journey to Emancipation,&#8221;<\/a> in the 5th floor Heritage Room.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibit, organized by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.huntington.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Huntington Library<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gilderlehrman.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History<\/a>, will travel to 63 different libraries in 31 different states.\u00a0 The Weinberg will be hosting the exhibit through March 22nd &#8211; to see it, just head up to the 5th floor anytime during the Library&#8217;s regular <a href=\"http:\/\/academic.scranton.edu\/department\/wml\/hours.html\" target=\"_blank\">hours<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-599\" style=\"border: 0 none\" src=\"http:\/\/sites.scranton.edu\/library\/files\/2009\/02\/img_0008small2.jpg\" alt=\"Abraham Lincoln's Journey to Emancipation\" width=\"518\" height=\"389\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Want even more Lincoln?\u00a0 There&#8217;s still time to register for this Saturday&#8217;s free <a href=\"http:\/\/academic.scranton.edu\/department\/wml\/lincoln-event.html\" target=\"_blank\">Symposium and Exhibit Opening Reception<\/a>.\u00a0 We&#8217;re excited to have three speakers share their knowledge of Lincoln and his time:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif\"><a href=\"http:\/\/academic.scranton.edu\/department\/english\/faculty\/gougeon.htm\">Dr. Leonard G. Gougeon<\/a>, The University of Scranton \u2013 \u201cIn the Heat of War: Lincoln, Emerson, and the Fortune of the Republic.&#8221;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif\">Karen James, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.portal.state.pa.us\/portal\/server.pt?open=512&amp;mode=2&amp;objID=1426\" target=\"_blank\">Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission<\/a> \u2013 &#8220;Effects of the Abolitionist Movement on Slavery Laws in Pennsylvania.&#8221;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif\">Thomas E.
