Mark Rothko: Immigrant, Artist, Pioneer<\/span>
\n<\/strong>Although Mark Rothko has undeniably reached the status of an iconic\u00a0artist whose paintings sell for about $80 million, he remains mysterious.\u00a0Cohen-Solal approaches him through the lens of her social history\u00a0research and unveils many fascinating aspects of his life and character.\u00a0Rothko fought the narrow-mindedness of many US institutions and was\u00a0deeply committed to giving all publics genuine access to art.
