{"id":840,"date":"2010-12-08T18:56:23","date_gmt":"2010-12-08T23:56:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sites.scranton.edu\/tag\/"},"modified":"2010-12-08T18:56:23","modified_gmt":"2010-12-08T23:56:23","slug":"guidelines","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sites.scranton.edu\/tag\/home\/guidelines\/","title":{"rendered":"Guidelines"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The University of Scranton Technology Advisory Group<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> Guidelines for Faculty Input on Technology Decisions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>December 8, 2010<\/p>\n<p>The  <a href=\"http:\/\/sites.scranton.edu\/tag\">Technology Advisory Group<\/a> (TAG) exists to facilitate dialog between the  University faculty and any administrative bodies responsible for  technology resources on campus. \u00a0TAG\u2019s efforts focus on the technology  that faculty use regularly to fulfill their responsibilities for  teaching, research, and service, as well as any emergent technology that faculty may use in the future. \u00a0In order for TAG to engage effectively in  communication about technology on campus, it is of substantial import  that<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a  faculty member, recommended by TAG, serve on any committee or task  force that is responsible for either evaluating new products or services  and\/or recommending updates to existing technology that will affect  University faculty; that<\/li>\n<li>said  faculty member share information with the rest of TAG in regards to the  discussions held and recommendations made by that committee; and that<\/li>\n<li>TAG  share this information with the rest of the University faculty in a  responsible, transparent, concise, and understandable way.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In order to successfully meet these shared expectations, the faculty member recommended by TAG to serve on such a committee must<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>be reasonably knowledgeable about the areas of technology under discussion;<\/li>\n<li>be familiar with faculty needs related to the areas of technology under discussion;<\/li>\n<li>be open minded and willing to learn new methods and software; and<\/li>\n<li>be able to provide feedback to the committee in an efficient and timely manner so as not to delay committee recommendations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Meeting  these criteria will enable the Technology Advisory Group to function at  its full potential, moving The University of Scranton toward a new  level of collaborative decision-making and fostering a culture of  transparency, productivity, and institutional effectiveness.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The University of Scranton Technology Advisory Group Guidelines for Faculty Input on Technology Decisions December 8, 2010 The Technology Advisory Group (TAG) exists to facilitate dialog between the University faculty and any administrative bodies responsible for technology resources on campus. \u00a0TAG\u2019s efforts focus on the technology that faculty use regularly to fulfill their responsibilities for [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":80,"featured_media":0,"parent":2648,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","template":"","meta":{"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-840","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/sites.scranton.edu\/tag\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/840","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/sites.scranton.edu\/tag\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/sites.scranton.edu\/tag\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/page"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/sites.scranton.edu\/tag\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/80"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/sites.scranton.edu\/tag\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=840"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/sites.scranton.edu\/tag\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/840\/revisions"}],"up":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/sites.scranton.edu\/tag\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/2648"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/sites.scranton.edu\/tag\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=840"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
