This announcement went out to everyone from the TSC on August 5:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Live@EDU, our hosted email system, is scheduled to be upgraded beginning on Friday, August 9th at 4:00 pm.\u00a0 This upgrade may take up to 72 hours to complete.\u00a0 Important items to note:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>During this time, customers will continue to have access to their email.<\/li>\n<li>We recommend customers access email via the portal (<a href=\"http:\/\/my.scranton.edu\" target=\"_blank\">my.scranton.edu<\/a>) for uninterrupted email access.<\/li>\n<li>Customers using the <b>Outlook client<\/b> or <b> mobile devices<\/b> may experience an hour or so during the upgrade, when their account is converted, where they will be repeatedly prompted for their password.\u00a0\u00a0 We recommend that customers wait an hour and try accessing their email again in the client or on their mobile devices\u00a0 &#8211;\u00a0 or access email via the portal (<a href=\"http:\/\/my.scranton.edu\" target=\"_blank\">my.scranton.edu<\/a>).<\/li>\n<li>The direct URL to outlook.com will no longer work.\u00a0 Please access email via the Outlook client or by clicking on the email icon in the portal (<a href=\"http:\/\/my.scranton.edu\" target=\"_blank\">my.scranton.edu<\/a>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This upgrade will provide additional features and functionality such as increased email quota (25GB).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>It seems like the upgrade went smoothly, but please contact the TSC if you are having any email-related issues.<\/p>\n<p>For anyone who uses SkyDrive &#8212;\u00a0 this announcement came out this morning on the my.scranton portal:<\/p>\n<div id=\"_LuminisAnnouncements_WAR_luminis_body\">\n<div>\n<blockquote>\n<div>As a result of the Office 365 upgrade, Skydrive and Messenger will no longer be connected to your Office 365 account.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>It is recommended that faculty and staff move any university data from SkyDrive to their RoyalDrive accounts.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><b>Office 365<\/b><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Can be accessed via the My.Scranton portal by clicking on the mail icon.<\/li>\n<li>The password for this account will be your My.Scranton password and can be changed by using the \u201cChange PIN\u201d link in My.Scranton.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><b>SkyDrive and Messenger<\/b><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Can be accessed at <a href=\"https:\/\/skydrive.live.com\/\">https:\/\/skydrive.live.com\/<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>The initial password for this account will be your My.Scranton password as of Friday, August 9<sup>th<\/sup>. This password can be managed at <a href=\"https:\/\/account.live.com\/\">https:\/\/account.live.com\/<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The username for both accounts will still be your university e-mail address (i.e. firstname.lastname@scranton.edu).<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Questions regarding Office 365 may be directed to the Technology Support Center at (570) 941-4357 or by e-mailing <a href=\"mailto:techsupport@scranton.edu\">techsupport@scranton.edu<\/a>.
