{"id":3358,"date":"2014-05-21T13:43:07","date_gmt":"2014-05-21T17:43:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sites.scranton.edu\/tag\/?p=3358"},"modified":"2014-05-21T15:24:36","modified_gmt":"2014-05-21T19:24:36","slug":"tag-feedback-on-draft-byod-strategy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.scranton.edu\/tag\/2014\/05\/21\/tag-feedback-on-draft-byod-strategy\/","title":{"rendered":"TAG feedback on draft BYOD Strategy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At our <a title=\"TAG Meeting Notes 2014-05-07\" href=\"http:\/\/sites.scranton.edu\/tag\/2014\/05\/07\/tag-meeting-notes-2014-05-07\/\">May TAG meeting<\/a>, Calvin Krzywiec (Assistant Director of Network Security &amp; Engineering) presented a <a href=\"http:\/\/sites.scranton.edu\/tag\/files\/2014\/05\/byod_strategy_2014_DRAFT.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">draft version of a BYOD Strategy<\/a> (Bring Your Own Device).\u00a0 We promised Cal a written compilation of feedback to inform the next draft of the report. \u00a0Since the TAG meeting, I&#8217;ve also been discussing the draft Strategy with several other interested faculty members, and I&#8217;ve done my best to compile all of these conversations in an <a href=\"http:\/\/sites.scranton.edu\/tag\/files\/2014\/05\/byod_strategy_2014_DRAFT_TAGresp2014-05-21.pdf\">annotated copy of the draft<\/a>. These notes represent a sampling of individual faculty members\u2019 reactions and should not be considered an authoritative response from the faculty as a whole.<\/p>\n<p>I believe the draft Strategy bears significant implications for teaching, learning, research, and the faculty work environment, and I&#8217;ve recommended that the document undergo careful review by the full Faculty Senate. (As the current Senate Liaison, Dave will share our feedback in a report to the Senate Executive Committee.)<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;d also like to invite additional comments and concerns from all faculty.
