{"id":3408,"date":"2014-08-05T11:09:50","date_gmt":"2014-08-05T15:09:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sites.scranton.edu\/tag\/?p=3408"},"modified":"2014-08-05T11:09:50","modified_gmt":"2014-08-05T15:09:50","slug":"wordpress-campus-network-from-blogs-to-sites","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.scranton.edu\/tag\/2014\/08\/05\/wordpress-campus-network-from-blogs-to-sites\/","title":{"rendered":"WordPress campus network: from blogs to sites"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Just a heads up that the URL for TAG&#8217;s website will be changing on <strong>August 7<\/strong> from <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/sites.scranton.edu\/tag\" target=\"_blank\">sites.scranton.edu\/tag<\/a><\/strong> to <a href=\"http:\/\/sites.scranton.edu\/tag\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>sites.scranton.edu\/tag<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This is part of a campus-wide change for WordPress sites, so that means that any site on the campus WordPress network (currently <a href=\"http:\/\/sites.scranton.edu\" target=\"_blank\">sites.scranton.edu<\/a>) will also be moving to <a href=\"http:\/\/sites.scranton.edu\" target=\"_blank\">sites.scranton.edu<\/a> this week.<\/p>\n<p>Excerpt from email announcement from Phil Erb in IR:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>We will be changing the URL of the WordPress blogs service from <a href=\"http:\/\/sites.scranton.edu\" target=\"_blank\">sites.scranton.edu<\/a> to <a href=\"http:\/\/sites.scranton.edu\" target=\"_blank\">sites.scranton.edu<\/a>, to more accurately reflect its expanded uses.<\/p>\n<p>This change will be made on <strong>Thursday, August 7th at 8am<\/strong>. No downtime is expected during this change.<\/p>\n<p>After that time, if any should visit a <a href=\"http:\/\/sites.scranton.edu\" target=\"_blank\">sites.scranton.edu<\/a>, they will be redirected to the same location on <a href=\"http:\/\/sites.scranton.edu\" target=\"_blank\">sites.scranton.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>I recommend that any publications or other sites that link to your <a href=\"http:\/\/sites.scranton.edu\" target=\"_blank\">sites.scranton.edu<\/a> site should be updated in the near future to reflect the new URL.
