At the start of the Fall 2010 semester, the Technology Advisory Group (TAG)<\/a> sent out a survey<\/a> to the faculty to elicit feedback about technology on campus.<\/p>\n

While it focused <\/span> on how faculty prefer to communicate about technology, the survey concluded with two open ended questions: \u201cWhat are the improvements you\u2019d most like to see regarding the implementation of technology on campus?\u201d and \u201cIs there anything else TAG should know about your technology needs?\u201d In response to these two questions, faculty members submitted a combined total of 92 comments, many of which revealed deeper technology and communication issues than the rest of the survey indicated.<\/p>\n

TAG would like to address as of these issues as possible.\u00a0 With help from Jim Franceschelli of IT Services<\/a>, we identified and responded to the most common and\/or important concerns that were raised in the survey comments:<\/p>\n

  2. Outages and Notifications<\/a><\/li>\n
  3. Customer Service<\/a><\/li>\n
  4. Classroom Mediation<\/a><\/li>\n
  5. Classroom and Computer Lab Maintenance<\/a><\/li>\n
  6. Faculty Computers<\/a><\/li>\n
  7. Mac Support<\/a><\/li>\n
  8. Data Storage and Backup<\/a><\/li>\n
  9. Email Capacity<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
