In November, Dr. Len Gougeon gave a presentation on “New England, Great Britain, and the Civil War,” as part of the Commemoration of the Civil War Sesquicentennial, at the Dietrich Theatre in Tunkhannock, PA. Dr. Gougeon is a nationally recognized scholar on Ralph Waldo Emerson and the Transcendental movement in American literature and culture from the Civil War era.
