Dr. Grettano Presents on Paradigm Shift in Information Literacy at National Conference

Dr. Teresa Grettano, Assistant Professor of Rhetoric & Composition and Director of First-Year Writing, and Associate Professor Donna Witek, Faculty Librarian and Information Literacy Instructor, presented “’We’re all mad here’: Fostering Metadiscourse on Metaliteracy” at the 2015 Conference on College Composition and Communication Convention in Tampa, Florida, over Spring Break. Dr. Grettano and Professor Witek introduced attendees to the paradigm shift underway in the field of information literacy and served as a model for collaboration between rhetoric & composition instructors and information literacy librarians. The presentation was a “talk about the talk” instructors in these two disciplines could have in order to collaborate to design and deliver literacy instruction in and for the participatory information environments of the 21st century.
