Bike Scranton 2017 Season Ends
The 2017 Bike Scranton Season will end at the University this Friday November 3rd. Preliminary reports indicate a substantial increase in borrowing this year. We are happy to be participants in this green initiative. Plan to join us again next April!
Borrowing Library Laptops
Starting today students may borrow library laptops overnight and take them out of the library if desired. There was student interest in borrowing laptops to use in class or take back to their dorms, so the library worked with IT over the summer to make this possible. So students, stop by the Circulation Desk on the first floor to get more information or to borrow a laptop!
Main entrance closed as of July 5
Due to construction, the main entrance to the library will be closed starting Wednesday July 5 for approximately three weeks. Please cut through (or go around) the DeNaples Center to get to the patio side of the library to enter.
Additional Group Study Room Available
The study room in the back corner of the library’s 4th floor, which is usually reserved for faculty, is now open for student use. This room is for group use and can not be reserved. Please follow the posted guidelines, and best of luck as you prepare for exams!
Poem in Your Pocket Day
You may know that April is National Poetry Month, but did you know that Thursday April 27 is “Poem in Your Pocket” Day? People are encouraged to “celebrate by selecting a poem, carrying it with them, and sharing it with others throughout the day”. I am choosing to share here a poem by Contemporary Canadian Poet Sheniz Janmohamed called”The Road Ghazal”. Pick a poem to share tomorrow – either in person or at #pocketpoem.

Bike Scranton 2017
Bike Scranton is back! For the 2017 season the library has 8 bikes of different sizes to lend to anyone age 18 or over. Bikes may be borrowed whenever the library is open, and all bikes must be returned before the library closes that same day. There is no charge for borrowing bikes. Stop by the Library Circulation Desk and borrow a bike today!
Library adds Group Study Room
Over winter break a third reservable group study room was added on the second floor. Room 2C was created by removing several of the older microform reader/printers, and the entrance is on the De Naples side of the building. The room will accommodate 4 students. Just go to:
http://groupstudy.library.scranton.edu/
to reserve any group study room up to one week in advance. Welcome back!
