Library Printing Services Upgraded
Changes were recently made in how print jobs are handled at the library.
When printing from a library computer you no longer need to name and password each job. The new process ties your print job to the RNumber used to log onto the computer. To print, log onto the Pharos UniPrint station using the same RNumber/password you used to access the computer, swipe your Royal Card, and print. You will now see only the jobs you sent from your RNumber, not anyone else’s. PLEASE NOTE: IT IS CRITICAL THAT YOU LOG ON AND OFF LIBRARY COMPUTERS BECAUSE ALL PRINT JOBS ARE TIED TO RNUMBER.
You can now print from mobile devices to the library printers! Simply email your document to uniprint@scranton.edu from your @scranton.edu email address. Once you get a confirmation, go to any library Pharos UniPrint station. Enter your RNumber and email password, swipe your Royal Card, and print. If you need a color copy, you must print from a library computer, not a mobile device.
The Scannx scanners will not send jobs directly to the printer. If you need a paper copy, choose the email option and send the scan to your @scranton.edu email address. Then email your document to uniprint@scranton.edu from any computer or mobile device.
If you installed the Uniprint pop-up client/driver on your personal computer to allow printing, it will no longer work. Now simply email your document to uniprint@scranton.edu from your @scranton.edu email address. Once you get a confirmation, go to any library Pharos UniPrint station. Enter your RNumber and email password, swipe your Royal Card, and print. If you need a color copy, you must print from a library computer, not your own.
We hope that the availability of mobile printing, the elimination of having to name and password each print job separately, and the added security of seeing only your own print jobs will help outweigh the initial inconvenience of learning a new routine.

Spotlight on Student Workers: Laura Urbanovich
On behalf of the Circulation Services staff, we would like to recognize our student worker Laura Urbanovich, a 2013 U of S Cum Laude Graduate who is now in the process of earning her Masters in Occupational Therapy. Laura comes from Nutley, New Jersey and she began her studies in the Fall of 2009. Majoring in Health Sciences with a Minor in Psychology, she has been employed with us since Spring 2010. At the Circulation Desk her popularity is evident as you can hear the exchange of greetings from many passersby whenever she is working there. Always smiling, she has the perfect personality for and really enjoys the customer service aspects of her job. She recognizes the library’s many great resources and encourages other students to ask for help when they need it.
Laura is a member of the Student Occupational Therapy Association and has participated in Divinely Designed Retreat and Intramural Sports. She enjoys skiing, music and reading. Her favorite book is The Great Gatsby and her favorite movie is Mean Girls. Two of her favorite professors are Dr. Charles Pinches of the Theology Department and Dr. Marlene Morgan of the Occupational Therapy Department. One fun fact about Laura is that she loves to travel! She’s been to Jamaica with ISP, Ireland, Dubai and took a travel course in Uganda. When she’s not studying or working on campus, she works at a local day care center.
When her studies here are completed, she hopes to continue traveling and find a job that she loves!
Thank you Laura!

Spotlight on Student Workers
Did you know that the Library employs a large group of student workers? We really couldn’t function without them! Last spring, Library Supervisors met to brainstorm ideas for making others more aware of the important contributions of our student staff. In the coming months we will be “introducing” our readers to many of our students via this blog, concentrating first on those who will be graduating in May. We hope this “spotlight” of recognition will let our students know how much they are valued!
Reserving Group Study Rooms extended until end of Spring Semester
Our trial period went well, so the two group study rooms on the second floor can still be reserved by groups of two or more, up to one week in advance, for up to two hours per day until the end of the semester. Go to http://tinyurl.com/wmlbookit
Library wants Student Feedback!
FEB 1-28 the library is offering students the ability to reserve group study rooms as a test. At
http://tinyurl.com/wmlbookit
the two newest group study rooms on the second floor can be reserved by student groups of two or more, up to one week in advance, for up to two hours per day. The person reserving the room will receive a confirmation e-mail, which also gives a quick link for cancelling the reservation if necessary.
During this period we are requesting that these rooms ONLY be used with a reservation. The test will help us determine if the software is helpful, and if reserving study rooms is a service we will be able to offer more widely in the future.
Please give it a try and let us know what you think!
