The Library is Closing at 4PM!

Due to the heavy snow that is forecast to continue throughout the day, the library will be closing at 4PM today.

The Reilly Learning Commons and Pro Deo rooms will continue to be open to all students with a current Royal Card. Please swipe your Royal Card to gain entrance into either room.

The library will continue to support virtual reference services throughout the night (24 hours). Simply click the Ask A Librarian chat box on any of the library’s main pages or the image below.

Wednesday, November 27:  8:00am – 4:30pm

Happy 2012!… and Intersession Hours

Happy 2012 to the University of Scranton community! The Weinberg Memorial Library faculty and staff is back from the holiday, and we’re ready for a new year of challenges, opportunities, work, and fun.  This year is especially important to us since we’ll be celebrating our 20th anniversary all year long.

More about that later, but for now, here are our hours for Intersession (January 3 – 28):

Monday – Thursday:  8am – 10pm
Friday:  8am – 4:30pm
Saturday: 12pm – 6pm
Sunday: 12pm – 10pm

Regular hours will resume on January 29 at the start of the Spring semester.  Happy studying!

Thanksgiving is a few days away, which means a break for student and librarian alike. The Library’s hours for the Thanksgiving Holiday are:

November 22, Tuesday: 8:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m.
November 23, Wednesday: 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
November 24-26, Thursday-Saturday: Closed
November 27, Sunday: 12 Noon-11:30 p.m.

Fall Hours

It’s been a lovely summer here at the Weinberg Memorial Library, but we’re all excited to see our students coming back to campus for the Fall 2011 semester.  As long as Irene doesn’t interfere, we’ll be here this weekend to welcome our new students and welcome back our returning students and faculty:

Saturday, August 27: 12pm – 6pm

Sunday, August 28: 12pm – 11:30pm

And then we’ll begin our regular Fall hours:

Monday – Thursday: 8am – 11:30pm

Friday: 8am – 10pm

Saturday: 12pm – 8pm

Sunday: 12pm – 11:30pm

And as always, our 24-hour spaces on the first floor will be open (you guessed it) 24 hours a day with a Royal Card swipe.  We look forward to seeing all of you!

The last summer session courses end today, so it’s time for the Library faculty and staff to step back and take a little breather before the start of Fall semester.  We’ll be on reduced hours for the next three weeks.  Here’s when you’ll find us at the ready:

Just a reminder that the Library will be closing early this week for Easter. Here’s when you’ll find us here:

Thursday April 21  8:00 a.m.– 4:30 p.m.
Friday–Sunday April 22-24  Closed
Monday April 25 Noon – 11:30 p.m.

Happy Fall Break!

We’re already halfway through the semester, which means Fall Break is here. Even the Library takes a break at this point in the semester, which means we’ll have limited hours this weekend:

Friday, October 8th:
8:00 am–4:30 pm

Saturday–Monday, October 9th-11th: Closed

We reopen at 8:00 am on Tuesday, October 12th. Also, the Pro Deo Room as well as the New 24 Hour Space will be open all weekend, and are accessible by swiping your Royal Card. You can also get help from a librarian while we’re closed via our 24/7 Chat Reference service.

Hours for July 4th Weekend

The 4th of July is upon us, and this means limited hours in the Library for the holiday weekend:

Saturday-Monday, July 3rd-5th the Library will be Closed.

We will reopen at 8 am on Tuesday, July 6th, and resume our regular hours.

Fall Break Upgrade Postponed!!

The Technology Support Center just announced that the software upgrades intended for this weekend have been postponed.  This means that email, Angel, and my.scranton will be available over Fall Break.  Library online resources (databases, catalog, interlibrary loan, course reserves) will all be accessible as usual, though the building will still be closed over the weekend.

Here’s the official notice from the Support Center:

The hardware and software upgrades scheduled for October 9 – 12 have been postponed. These upgrades will be rescheduled at a later date. University enterprise computer systems will be available as normally scheduled. As always, information technology questions or problems can be directed to the Technology Support Center can be reached at x4357 or techsupport@scranton.edu

Also, the Library building will be closed from 4:30 pm on Friday 10/9, and will reopen at 8:30 am on Tuesday 10/13 for Fall break. The 24 hour Pro Deo room will be open this weekend. Have a great break!
